The battle for the best roller derby team in Virginia is brewing and from the looks of it, will be the most electrifying roller derby event EVER! We’ve got skates, we’ve got attitude, and we’re ready to maul on the Mall.

Whether you’re a diehard Derby Dames fan or new to the sport, make sure to save the date of August 4, 2012 for some pure derby pandemonium served Derby Dames style at the  Main St. Arena on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall.

Five teams from all over Virginia will compete for the title of the Best Roller Derby Team in VA.   Skaters from additional local leagues will participate in numerous exhibition scrimmages. Altogether, over 200 derby dames and dudes will descend upon the Mall to participate in this event.

 

The Details:

WHERE:  Main Street Arena on Charlottesville, VA's Downtown Mall

WHAT:  Tournament Activity and Exhibition Scrimmages happening all day

MAIN EVENT:  Championship Tournament Bout at 7pm, with afterparty to follow

In addition to all the derby mayhem, we will have activities and entertainment along with loads of vendors for your entire bargain-hunting skater needs.

The 2012 VA is for Shovers tournament is an all-ages, family-friendly event!

• All Day Pass = $15
• Main Event Only (7pm Championship bout) = $10
• Children 6-10 = all tickets half-off regular price
• Children 5 and under enter FREE!
  
• Tickets will be available for purchase at the door only!

• PASSES INCLUDE ENTRANCE TO THE AFTERPARTY! (Afterparty location TBA)

Following the day’s festivities, spectators and skaters are invited to celebrate an awesome day of derby at our after-party.

Important Dates

• April Fool's Day (April 1): Registration begins for the tournament (sorry only VA teams are eligible)

• Cinco de Mayo (May 5): Cutoff date for team registration for the tournament and registration begins for individual skaters for scrimmages

• Independence Day (July 4): Cut-off date for individual registration for scrimmages

• Shover's Day (August 4): Virginia is for Shovers, VA tourney and fun times for all
